Making Formula feeds-
Formula feeds need to be correctly constituted always and the process of making should be sterile.
Too much or too less water or powder can have an effect on the baby
EQUIPMENT
-
Cooled boiled water
-
Sterilised feeding bottle
-
Formula
METHOD
-
Read the instructions on the formula package about how to make the formula
-
It is preferable to make them just before to feeding rather than making them and storing them in the fridge.
-
Storing in the fridge can be done for up to 24 hours in a sterile container and the temperature should be below 5-degree centigrade.
-
Once you pick the sterile container from the steriliser, add the calculated amount of water.
-
Add the formula with the scoop provided.
-
Tighten the teat to the bottle by holding the edge of the teat and make sure not to touch the part that goes into the baby’s mouth
-
Now shake the bottle to mix the milk
